Hills are the best :)
Strength Builders. Developing the muscular strength and recruitment through this kind of intensity is critical for long-term health and development. It is the most specific form of strength training a runner can do.
Improves Speed. Hills are the best form of plyometrics you can do as a runner! Developing an elastic response to the ground improves your stride and running economy.
Improves Core Strength and Coordination. Practicing control of the entire body as well as leg speed with the quick pace of a down hill improves the strength of your core and overall running efficiency.
During the winter months of January, February and March, come together one time a month with VQ coaches and all levels of runners to harness the energy and camaraderie of the group to tackle an organized hill workout that will be challenging but so beneficial, and oh so much more fun to do together!!
