Fit Lab
(AGES 11-14 ONLY)
There is nothing more important for our youth today than social interaction and movement! Kids, on average, are spending 85% of their waking hours, sitting and in front of screens.
Join us for Fit Lab, a youth based program that will focus on the following:
- Provide a safe and fun environment for young teens ages 11-14 to move and interact
- Introduce and reinforce basic human movements necessary for all sports - push, pull, lunge, squat, hinge, jump, and carry
- Meet CDC recommendation that all young people get at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity every day
- Create a space where all young people can enjoy movement regardless of body type or fitness level.
Why is movement important??
As one researcher put it, movement is cognitive candy. Students who are engaged in daily physical education programs consistently show not just superior motor fitness, but better academic performance and a better attitude toward school than their students who do not participate in daily P.E.
