A long-time runner - sometimes competitive - I earned my Road Runners Club of American Coach Certification to help others start doing or improve upon something I truly love to do. I am the volunteer Director of Training Programs with the DC Road Runners Club, running their ten-mile and half-marathon training programs. I am also a certified Personal Trainer (ACE) and recently received a MS in Exercise, Fitness & Health Promotion from George Mason University. In addition, I am a Community Coordinator for the national non-profit, Healthy Kids Running Series, and I run a small C25k program locally. My PR's aren't breaking any records, but I am consistent and I know how to push through pain. My half-marathon PR is 1:26, my marathon PR 3:10, and my brother is lobbying hard to get me on the trail ultra bandwagon! At the end of the day, whether the goal is to lose weight, run faster, run farther, run more often...every step counts and every step should be celebrated.
