Chris started doing yoga on a doctor’s suggestion for chronic back pain. After his first class, the pain went away, and he was hooked. Chris sees yoga as a life-expanding practice, where we open up to new possibilities in ourselves and the world. As a professor in the Center for South Asia at UW Madison, Chris has taught many classes on the culture and thought of India. With a lifelong passion for Sanskrit and yoga philosophy, Chris believes yoga classes are all about bringing to life the teachings of self-care, self-awareness, and enjoying the moment. On his first visit to TRUE Studio™, Chris fell in love with the studio’s way of bringing thousands of years of yoga wisdom to life right here and now in a roomful of people sharing their practice.
