Becci
Becci
Becci was born and raised on a farm in the Midwest and is back in Chicago after having spent the last five years in Southern California. She grew up in an active and outdoorsy family where her love of purposeful movement was nurtured at a young age, beginning dance at the age of two with gymnastics, tumbling and competitive sports to follow. She continued to dance through college auditioning and performing in Iowa State University's The Nutcracker Ballet for a total of over 10 years. Becci further fueled her passion for fitness and wellness at Iowa State University where she received a B.S. in Kinesiology/Pre-Medicine and then a M.P.H. in Health Policy & Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her love of physical activity propelled her into distance running starting in junior high and she continues to compete in numerous road races from 5ks to marathons. She has been teaching fitness classes and personal training since 2005. Most recently, she served as the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation at Pepperdine University in Malibu. She holds certifications in personal training and group fitness from the American Council on Exercise, spin (Mad Dogg Athletics), TRX suspension training, mat Pilates (Equinox Institute), YogaFit and Intrinsic Health Coaching. Additionally, Becci is a DONA-trained birth doula and loves to support and empower couples through pregnancy, labor and beyond.
Becci discovered The Dailey Method in Venice, CA after having her first baby. Her body needed adequate time to heal from pregnancy issues before she could return to her normal running and strength training routine. Becci loved the the low-impact, rehabilitative-based, and alignment-focused effective workouts she found at TDM. She is so excited to be a part of TDM community in Chicago and knows that by inspiring just one person towards health she can make a change in a community and this city. When she's not teaching, you can find Becci spending time outdoors with her husband and yellow lab while chasing after her two small kids.
