Tom Kristo is the founder and operator of Psycle. Tom’s background is as a golf professional at several private clubs in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. The combination of running the golf operations at exclusive private country clubs combined with a passion for fitness is what led Tom to opening Psycle. A former marathon runner who had to cut back on running as he aged and broke down, Tom found indoor cycling could give him the “high” he used to get while running without all the stress on his body. The combination of cycling, yoga and strength training has made 51 year old Tom feel as though he is in the best shape of his life. 5 things you need to know about me 1. I get great joy out of watching people around me realize the benefits of exercise on not only the body but the mind. 2. I may not look it but I eat a lot. I just try to eat real healthy. I realized a long time ago that total fitness can only be achieved through cardiovascular exercise combined with resistance training and a good diet. Look at it as a pie with three pieces. The cardio piece and the resistance piece take up less than half the pie. 3. My tastes in music are wide ranging but the stuff I always come back to and love to ride to is Alterative. 4. I always want to continue to learn and get better. I want Psycle to be an evolving business, always growing, always full of surprises and new twists. 5. I am originally from Wisconsin and am a huge Green Bay Packer fan… sorry. My class is unique because It is a combination of standing surges with tension, running out of the saddle, climbing, upper body and core work. You will not spend very much time with your butt on the saddle and everything is done to the beat of the music. That being said, I am slightly beat challenged, so when I say to the “beat”, I mean to my beat. I am off the bike and I will motivate people to reach a level they didn’t think they had in them. I get great joy out of seeing people exceed their expectations of themselves. I look at that as my job. My family is… the joy of my life My friends know me as… Kristo, I am not sure when I lost my first name Psycle got its name… when I realized that the physical and mental benefits of being on the bike are equal partners
