A senior teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition, Chris has studied closely with Shambhala’s lineage holder, Sakyong Mipham, since 2002. Chris has served as Director of the Shambhala Meditation Center of Washington, DC (2005-2009) as well the head of Shambhala’s European operations based in Germany (2009-2012). Over the years, he has taught hundreds of people to develop greater awareness, clarity, and focus through meditation workshops given in both the United States and Europe. He has worked in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors and is especially interested in bringing practices that develop confidence, compassion, and genuine good heart. into the workplace.
 
Chris was a founding member of the Washington Buddhist Peace Fellowship and co-host, with Noah Levine, of the 1st Annual Change Your Mind Day event in Washington, DC held on the White House Ellipse in 2004. Most recently, Chris has created Ennoble, LLC, where he brings his experience in leadership, mindfulness, and professional development to U.S. Government clients, groups, and individuals, in order to develop personal, interpersonal, and professional skills that ennoble life and society.
 
Chris specializes in teaching shamatha (mindfulness/awareness), contemplative meditation, and mindful leadership.
