My name is Angela Meli and I have been a member of Hers Kickboxing for almost two years now. For the past nine years, I had been putting much effort into my gym workouts, constantly challenging myself to run faster or lift more, yet often feeling unsatisfied with my efforts. When I joined Hers I had a renewed motivation to workout, as I immediately saw my strength increasing and felt part of something bigger than just a workout. Thanks to Hers, kickboxing has become a passion and it is so empowering to work with Hers’ members as they try to improve their fitness level and self-confidence. I value being part of your fitness journey, as you are simply worth it, you can do it, and you deserve to feel like your best self! Within the past two years, I had to learn to balance my career as an elementary school teacher, while completing a Master's in night school, along with making time for those I love and most of all, my own well-being. I have come to view my workouts as a priority, even when I am not feeling my best. When life gets busy and overwhelming, it is so important to find that time in the day to dedicate to yourself to maintain your own well-being. I workout to be able to have the energy to enjoy all the other aspects of life. Time invested in yourself is time well spent! I truly believe in balance and “everything in moderation”. Dedicate that time to yourself, challenge yourself, push yourself, but don’t forget to reward yourself with life’s simple pleasures!
