Michael was born and raised in Sacramento and moved back permanently in 2003 where he has established a financial planning practice while raising his two kids Alex (12) and Max (10). Fitness has always been a part of his life, growing up a competitive swimmer as well as competing in rowing/crew for 2 years in high school and 1 year at the University of California, Berkeley where he graduated in 1998. His mom was extremely influential in his life as an athlete as she was always competing in marathons, triathlons, century rides, etc., and had her own personal training business. Michael took up the sport of triathlon in 2003 and has since competed in countless triathlons, marathons, along with half-marathons, 10k and 5k races over the years. For Michael maintaining a healthy lifestyle is not just about “working out” a few times per week - it is a complete lifestyle choice that includes nutritionally eating a plant-based diet and keeping his mental health strong with yoga and meditation. He has a passion for not only his own fitness and nutrition goals, but also inspiring his kids, and others in the community. He believes that we all must find ways to challenge and push ourselves daily in order to grow both physically and mentally. Along with running his financial practice, teaching bootcamp, and spending time with his kids, friends and family, he is also an active board member with Triumph Cancer Foundation.
