Grayson G.
“Jiu Jitsu is for the protection of the individual, the older man, the weak, the child, the lady, the young woman – anyone who lacks the physical attributes to defend themselves.” -Helio Gracie
Grayson has been training jiu jitsu and mixed martial arts since 2005. He attended his first gi class in 2007, and after realizing it's effectiveness and practical real-world self-defense applications, he was hooked. Grayson joined the Pedro Sauer association in 2007 and earned black belt rank in 2015. Although He has competed locally in jiu jitsu and MMA, he believes it is the self-defense aspect of jiu jitsu which is most important. Grayson firmly believes, like Helio Gracie said, that, “Jiu Jitsu is for the protection of the individual, the older man, the weak, the child, the lady, the young woman – anyone who lacks the physical attributes to defend themselves.” Whether you are a professional fighter or do jiu jitsu as a hobby, training gi jiu jitsu will focus on the fundamental techniques needed to be successful in any fight situation. Grayson is one of the best instructors in Utah when it comes to these core techniques and self-defense jiu jitsu and has conducted multiple self-defense seminars, including women’s self-defense and self-defense for the Navy and Marine Corps ROTC, Air Force, Army Reserves, and law enforcement. In addition to his jiu jitsu experience, Grayson is a black belt in Hap Ki Do and graduated Cum Laude in psychology from Weber State University. Grayson has worked extensively with children and adolescents in both jiu jitsu and mental health settings. This experience allows him to be an effective teacher for people of all ages, skill levels, and abilities. He currently works in entomology at Hill AFB, Utah and is an expert in animal biology and ethology.
