Ayesha N.
As an Empower Cycle instructor, I aim to combine two of my passions—music and cycling—to provide a class where we stay on the beat to achieve an intense workout. I play a mix of R&B, hip-hop, alternative, and EDM, and in my classes, the workout is as diverse as the music. If you’re looking for a spiritual guide to infuse your workout with reflective mantras aimed at channeling your inner strength, sorry, but you’ll have to look elsewhere! You do you, but that’s not me. I have a Schwinn Cycling certification and have been teaching since 2016. I started cycling ten years ago, when I was overweight and hadn’t ever taken a fitness class in my life. I’ve been a cycling junkie ever since! Like others who weren’t born skinny, I’m in a constantly raging battle with my weight. Again, you do you, but I work out to eat. While fitness is an important part of my life, there’s more to it. Not all of us have time to work out every day—let alone multiple times a day—so I aim to make the most of our 45 minutes together. When I’m not creating a pool of sweat beneath my bike or grossing out other runners at Memorial Park, I’m either hanging with my 2 kids, playing pool, being that annoying person at a concert who gets way too into the music, or litigating commercial disputes.
