Abbey R.
Abbey was born in Baltimore, Maryland and grew up following her dream to be a professional dancer. She trained as a pre-professional at the Baltimore School for the Arts from the time she was 10 years old and completed her education at The Juilliard School in New York, earning her BFA in dance in 2006.   As a professional, Abbey danced for many companies and choreographers throughout the United States, Canada and Europe including The Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal, Armitage Gone! Dance, Francesca Harper for Dance Theater of Harlem, and even alongside New York City Ballet principal dancers onstage at the New York Philharmonic.  Abbey decided to shift her career focus to fitness in 2015 when she moved to Colorado. She earned her CPT through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, holds a  specialization in Corrective Exercise, and is a Level 1 Certified Nutrition Coach through Precision Nutrition. Abbey has been on the training staff at FIT36 Highlands since it's opening in 2015. Abbey's lifetime of experience in movement fuels her desire to help others unlock the potential of free range of motion and strength in their own bodies. She feels best when she is moving and wants to help others experience the same joy. Abbey focuses on helping clients understand correct postural alignment first, then movement cues. She is a stickler for form and loves detailed execution of exercises. Come see her for a fun, but informative class!  In addition to her work at FIT36 Highlands, Abbey also teaches barre, and continues to explore her love for creative movement with local dance companies.
