Bio:
I am certified as a personal trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and have been working full time in the field since 2008. I participate regularly in ongoing professional development through attendance at conferences, continuing education workshops and by consulting with colleagues in allied disciplines. I enjoy teaching and have developed and taught a variety of group exercise classes including core conditioning, bodyweight circuit training, aerial-based conditioning, TRX suspension training, indoor cycling and group exercise for adults in the 50+ age group.
I hold a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland and a B.A. in Psychology from Wesleyan University. Prior to becoming a personal trainer, I worked as a counselor and prevention educator in school and community settings for 10 years, led and developed adventure-based programs focusing on team building and personal growth for over 15 years, and provided train-the-trainer workshops to challenge course facilitators in school, camp and therapeutic settings.
