Fitness Philosophy: Learn to move well and do it daily, especially during challenging times including injury/surgery recovery.
Favorite Personal Workout: 20-minute Tabata, Pilates Reformer/Mat or hours on the dance floor!
I have more than 23 years of experience in the fitness industry as a group exercise instructor and personal trainer. As former dancer, I have been active all of my life. The latest part of my fitness journey includes becoming certified to teach Pilates and Balanced Athlete. Pilates and BA are a natural extension of my philosophy of “functional fitness,” as both forms of exercise elongate and strengthen, improving muscle elasticity and joint mobility/stability— invaluable for injury recovery, sports performance, good posture and optimal health. Teaching clients how they can be active for a lifetime, even through injuries, aches and pains, illness, or life’s setbacks is a rewarding part of my client relationship.
I also have a confession. I am former sugar and bread junkie! Making changes to a diet that reduces inflammation and cures disease has increased my quality of life tenfold. If I can refrain from processed foods and sugar, and keep about 15% of my diet from animal products, anybody can.
